Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras announced a package of permanent positive measures, stressing that it is time to justify the sacrifices of those who bore the burden of the crisis.

At a press conference in Zappeion on Tuesday and together with the financial team, Alexis Tsipras announced the package of tax cuts and support measures for the vulnerable economic social groups. The package includes a reduction of VAT on all foods from 24% to 13%, the 13th pension, implemented from this month onwards and which will be given each year this season as it corresponds to the Easter bonus, a reduction in VAT on electricity and gas from 13 to 6%, a reduction of ENFIA on the small islands, a reduction of the corporate tax rate and a subsidy for social security contributions for young employees.

The Prime Minister also reiterated that the national elections will be held early October.
