In a panel attended by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, he referred to Greece’s absence at the Berlin Conference on Libya as a mistake and stressed that he expressed his displeasure over the matter to Angela Merkel.

On the recent Turkey-Libya agreement, the prime minister noted that it ignores the fact that the islands have the right to exclusive economic zones.

Referring to the Eastmed pipeline, he pointed out that it is a matter of energy security and added that we will not ask Turkey what we will do, as at the end of the day what is important is the respect for international law.

The Greek prime minister also referred to the government’s reform work, the progress the Greek economy has made in the last six months, as well as the goal of reducing primary surpluses that would lead to lower taxes.
