On October 1, from 11.00 to 14.00, the Museum of Cycladic Art welcomes children and parents to start off the new season of educational programs. Visitors will have the chance to enjoy an exciting three-hour event filled with imagination, creativity and play.
The event will highlight the components of this year’s educational programs, entitled “On the weekends… children and growns-up at the Museum”, which start on the weekend of October 7-8. In the programs, children from 2 to 12 years of age will get acquainted with the Museum’s collections, and travel through time to become nomads, play with numbers and music, and tailor the world’s museums to their own desires.
On the October 1 event, children will be able to get a first taste of this year’s training programs: Participants 2-5 years old will work on sea-shell jigsaws, while children 5-10 years old will be turned into “Museum travelers”, making imaginary museums with papers, colors and various materials. All children will play and experiment with various techniques, and make of these a small project, which they will be able to take with them. At the same time, parents will learn about the new program, and meet the educators running the workshops.
