Greece has 117 confirmed coronavirus cases, 10 of which are cannot be traced and another 15 that are under investigation. Meanwhile, just before 10am, a 78-year-old man with pneumonia symptoms arrived in AHEPA from Kozani. The results from the Covid-19 tests will be known today.

Courts, nightclubs, cultural events facilities, museums, archaeological sites, theaters, cinemas, playgrounds and gyms will be closed for 15 days. Areios Paghos (Supreme Court) prosecutor asked that the prosecutors intervene when there is any violation of measures in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus and he cited a specific article of the Penal Code that foresees stiff penalties from two years to life in prison.

Yesterday, the health minister called for doctors and nurses to apply for two-year contracts at the National Healthcare Service and then stay on the health system.


There are four patients with coronavirus in serious condition at the Rio hospital, and one person is intubated. As of today, General Hospital “Ag. Andreas” will be accepting patients with suspicious symptoms that could indicate coronavirus. The patients will be able to give samples to be sent to the University of Patras reference laboratory and get the results within 5 to 6 hours, on the hospital’s second floor.

There is also a temporary testing center set up at the hospital for those who have symptoms related to coronavirus. As part of the protection measures, the Aigio Municipal Park is closed today. Meanwhile, the Commercial Association has announced it is changing store hours due to the coronavirus.

Specifically, the stores will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 6pm and Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 10am to 3pm.


The first patient of coronavirus, a 38-year-old woman and her young son, were discharged yesterday and do not need to be under home isolation.

Six patients, two of which, in serious condition; the 53-year-old man from Kozani and a 50-year-old man from Kastoria with pneumonia, are being treated at the AHEPA hospital.

Aristotle University has also suggested that teaching staff uses e-learning methods.


There are currently seven confirmed coronavirus cases at the Attikon hospital and five more people are hospitalized in “Sotiria”. The scientific community is concerned about the 10 untraceable cases out of the 117, pointing out that social distancing is the most important measure, especially for those who have flu symptoms. However, in two to three weeks, they will have a better picture of the situation.
