The new, provocative statements of Turkish President Erdogan caused the strong reaction of all the political parties. In an effort to undermine the discussions on the Cyprus issue, the Turkish President accused the Republic of Cyprus of depicting the entire island on its flag.

The Greek Foreign Ministry issued a statement referring to the unhistorical and arbitrary offsets of the Turkish leadership and the attempts to lift the responsibilities of Turkey as a power of occupation.

Head of Sector for Foreign Affairs of the “New Democracy” Mr. Yorgos Koumoutsakos asked for the intervention of the international community, the UN, the EU and the NATO to Ankara, as well as the initiatives of the Greek Government in that direction.
