In an interview with “Mannheimer Morgen” newspaper, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble stressed once more that Greece should implement the reform program and become more competitive, with the issue of debt relief being “currently off the agenda”.

Talks about debt relief would send the wrong message to Athens, in a period when Greece’s economy is doing better and is recovering, he said, adding that Greece should keep on working on its competitiveness. The borrowing cost for the next 10-15 years is already relatively low, concluded the German Minister.
