The newly established Special Scientific Committee on Climate Change met on Wednesday under the Minister of Environment and Energy, Kostis Hatzidakis, with the aim of suggesting measures to formulate policies to tackle climate change, the scientific documentation of the necessity of the proposed policies, and the experts opinions on any issue related to tackling climate change.

Members of the Committee are prominent academics, researchers, representatives of the business community and civil society. At yesterday’s meeting, the members discussed its action plan on the basis of both European and national climate change policy priorities.
