Russian Foreign Minister SergeY Lavrov met with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias today, in the context of the foreign minister’s visit to the Greek capital. The two diplomats discussed issues related to regional and international developments, especially in the Eastern Mediterranean in the context of Turkey’s provocative attitude towards Greece and Cyprus, as well as EU-Russia relations.
The two foreign ministers signed a Joint Memorandum for the Russia-Greece Year of History 2021 that will coincide with the 200th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, who is also visiting Athens today, met with his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias and both ministers discussed developments in the Mediterranean. Tomorrow, Athens is hosting the Greece-Cyprus-Israel trilateral meeting at the level of Foreign Ministers.
