From October 30 onwards, Sotiris Hatzakis directs and stars in Nikolai Gogol’s “Diary of a madman”. The famous director and actor returns to the scene after 17 years to portray Poprishchin. In his own words, “the Actor was and remains the center of my theatrical universe. All my directions have been primarily the result of approaching plays as an actor. Haven’t I been hiding in the curtains long enough? It is now time to step out in to the limelight. That’s where the most crucial events take place.”
for this performance, Sotiris Hatzakis has worked closely with Matthaios Yosafat, building a psychoanalytic approach to the role.
The play is presented in Eleni Bakopoulou’s translation; Ersi Drini has designed the sets and costumes. Sotiris Hatzakis has selected the performance’s music.
