The General Secreteriat for Sports sent a group of specialists to check the upper level of the Olympic Stadium of Athens (OAKA), which appears to be rocking.
Sports Minister Giorgos Vassiliadis said that for the time being there is no reason for concern, and the state will take care of the issue.
"The Olympic Stadium of Athens is not old. It was built in 1982 under the best technical standards, and renovated in 2004. Every seven years it is checked by a special committee. The rocking phenomenon is frequent at the Stadium as in every stadium with over two levels." Vassiliadis said the Infrastructures Ministry will also be involved, and reiterated that "the facility is totally safe."
