Presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski won the presidency in Northern Macedonia, on Sunday, with 51.83%, while the candidate of the main opposition VMRO-DPMNE, Gordana Siljanovska, got 44.57%, with a participation of 46.44%.

In his statements, after the announcement of the results, Stevo Pendarovski thanked the voters who trusted him and noted that he would be the president of all of the country’s citizens, regardless party preferences and ethnic origin, and stressed that he would pay particular attention to the promotion of the country’s European and Euro-Atlantic prospects.

On the other hand, Gordana Siljanovska acknowledged her defeat and thanked those who entrusted her with their vote, but at the same time she considered that the outcome of the elections did not guarantee a better future for the country.
