The National Library of Greece, in collaboration with the Hellenic Libraries Network, organizes the Summer 2017 Reading and Creativity Campaign entitled “Point to Point Adventures”.

In this context, from June 15 to September 8, more than 150 public and municipal libraries across Greece join forces to offer children aged 6 to 12 over 3,000 creative workshops.

The campaign’s opening ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 15, at 6 pm, at the National Library’s new seat at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. The ceremony will be live streamed throughout the Hellenic Libraries Network.

In the framework of the Summer 2017 Reading and Creativity Campaign, parents and children will take part in a national composition game around different points: they will experiment with the boiling point, move while maintaining a balance point, paint around dots, play with punctuation marks, and begin trips to the different points on the horizon.

This campaign is the National Library’s first audience development project, and is part of its relocation process to the SNFCC.

The National Library of Greece provides comprehensive bibliography, original educational material, and constant online support to 150 libraries in different Greek cities, villages and islands, so they can make available a common summer reading and creativity program to thousands of children.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs and is implemented thanks to the collaboration of hundreds of librarians, teachers and volunteers throughout Greece. During the summer, libraries coordinate their actions at the website network.nlg.gr.
