Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met his Italian counterpart, Giuseppe Conte on Tuesday in Rome. During the meeting, the two prime ministers emphasized on the excellent relations and the good cooperation between the two countries, as well as the possibilities to deepen and extend this cooperation at political and economic level.

The cooperation in areas of mutual interest, with an emphasis on the economy, trade and energy, was extensively discussed, while emphasizing on the importance of the two countries’ geostrategic position, which is also appropriate for business consortia aimed at the wider Balkan region, Southeast Europe and the Mediterranean. In this context, Greece and Italy pledged to step up their efforts to establish a strong energy hub in the Mediterranean region.
