Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will visit President Prokopis Pavlopoulos today, at 6.30 in the afternoon, in order to ask him to dissolve Parliament and call early general elections, which will take place on 7 July. The political parties are in pre-election mode.

Alexis Tsipras will present SYRIZA’s government program for the next four years, during a special event that will take place in the evening at the Athens Concert Hall Atrium.

The program’s main axes are: “new jobs with increased wages, fairer taxation, a more efficient state, growth for everyone and security for society”.

In fact, the prime minister is expected to emphasize the fact that he is calling for the “renewal of people’s mandate” so that the country can continue on that road and not regress to austerity policies.

“Mr. Tsipras will go to the President of the Republic to ask for the dissolution of the Parliament, which he did not plan, but you imposed on him with the outcome of the elections,” said ND President Kyriakos Mitsotakis from Kos asking citizens to give him an opportunity to do what he has committed to.

Mr. Mitsotakis, speaking to tour operators in Kos, the last destination of his two-day Dodecanese tour, said he would do everything in his power to help boost growth which will benefit everyone.
