During his speech at the European People’s Party conference, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed the need for a common European asylum policy in Zagreb and called on Brussels and Ankara to fulfill their part in the management of the migration-refugee crisis.

Mr. Mitsotakis also accused Ankara of using migration as a tool for international pressure, while he addressed the European countries saying that “Europe can no longer pretend that the migration crisis affects only the member states at the union’s borders”. He also called the Dublin Regulation, affecting refugees and migrants to EU, lamentably insufficient to address the problem and stressed that the creation of a common European asylum and border protection framework, is a top priority.
