Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) Managing Director Klaus Regling, on Tuesday afternoon at Maximos Mansion.
The prime minister stressed the importance of reforms that foster economic growth and the creation of jobs, which are the new government’s central commitments. Mr. Mitsotakis reaffirmed that Greece will respect the fiscal targets. He also expressed his conviction that the rapid implementation of structural reforms would pave the way for bigger growth and additional fiscal space.
Regling congratulated the Greek premier on his electoral victory, and stressed that the ESM is Greece’s long-term partner and willing to help the government in its efforts to boost competitiveness and sustainable long-term growth. The prime minister and Mr Regling underlined their joint commitment to continued and constructive cooperation in a climate of mutual trust.
