Most of the proposals of the SYRIZA parliamentary group were accepted either by an absolute majority of all MPs and even an increased majority of more than 180 MPs, during the first vote in the plenary of the House on the proposals regarding the revision of the Constitution.

The articles on the State’s religious neutrality, the decoupling of the election of the President of the Republic from the dissolution of the House and the limitation of the regulations regarding the ministers’ liability were deemed revisable.

The proposals regarding the securing of the political oath, the safeguarding of the work and collective freedoms, the ratification of international treaties by referendums, the introduction of the popular legislative initiative and referendums by popular initiative and the establishment of a proportional electoral system, as well as members of Greeks abroad, have also been voted.
