The contacts between government officials and the heads of the institutions begin today with the fiscal issues, for the third evaluation in the framework of post-memorandum surveillance.

The discussions will mainly focus on financial issues and the progress of reforms.

The consultations are due to be completed by Wednesday 8 May, with a brief announcement from the creditors’ side with the outcome of the contacts.

The agenda’s topics are reportedly the 1 billion euros positive measures that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will announce over the next few days, and will be funded by the 2019 surplus as well as the prerequisites for the third evaluation, such as the reduction of the government debt arrears to individuals and the implementation of the new law on the protection of primary residence from auctions and privatizations.
