The coronavirus cases in Greece have exceeded the barrier of 10,000, with 157 new infections that were recorded on Sunday, thus raising the total number to 10,134, according to the National Public Health Organization (EODY).
Forty-one cases were identified after checks at the country’s gates, while there is a new cluster in Thessaloniki, as 14 workers in a metal factory have tested positive to the coronavirus and the tracking of their contacts is in progress.
Of the total cases, 2,078 (20.5%) are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 4,448 (43.9%) are related to an already known case.
Thirty-five people with a median age of 69 years, remain intubated, while 51.4% of them have an underlying health issue or are aged 70 and over, while 149 patients have been discharged from the ICUs.
The total number of deaths now stands at 262, as in the last 24 hours two more people lost their lives due to Covid-19.
