US President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to a White House announcement, during which, they discussed developments in Libya, Syria and the eastern Mediterranean.

According to a White House spokesman, Trump stressed the importance of resolving the differences between Greece and Turkey in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The two leaders discussed the need to eliminate foreign intervention and maintain a ceasefire in Libya, according to a Twitter post by White House Deputy Spokesman Judd Deere. The two men also agreed that violence in Syria’s Idlib should stop. President Trump also stressed the importance of Turkey and Greece resolving their disputes in the eastern Mediterranean.
