Hailstorm “Victoria” has hit Greece bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds in Western Greece, mainly in Corfu and Kefalonia. Homes and shops were flooded, there are road network problems, landslides, and power and water outages.
As a result, today, the schools in Corfu will remain closed. In the villages of Nyfi and Agia Efthimia in Kefalonia, there were landslides and four houses were damaged.
The Fire Department received many calls to evacuate residents. Power problems occurred in Arcadia, Corinthia and Laconia. In the early hours this morning, heavy rainfall hit Attica, causing problems on the roads and the Fire Department accepting calls for water evacuation.
