Violent clashes broke out at the rally against the Prespes Agreement which took place on Sunday, as tens of thousands of people converged in Syntagma Square. According to the recorded images and the demonstrators’ testimonies, organized extremist groups attacked police officers and tried to force the closure of the parliament building by throwing stones.

The clashes continued for several hours around Syntagma Square and the nearby streets, with clashes and the firing of tear gas. Twenty-five police officers and nine demonstrators were injured while several protesters suffered respiratory problems.
